Dynamic Distribution Lists are automatically generated groups of members based on specific criteria or filters — such as membership type, status, employer, or location.

Unlike static lists (which require manual updates), dynamic lists update automatically whenever member data changes. This ensures that communications and invitations always reach the correct, most up-to-date audience without extra effort.

? Example: If a new member joins with the status “Active,” they’ll automatically be added to the “Active Members” distribution list. If their status changes to “Inactive,” they’ll be automatically removed.

Best Practices

  • Use clear naming conventions to easily identify your lists.
  • Keep your filters as specific as possible to ensure targeted communication.
  • Review existing lists periodically to confirm they still align with your communication needs.
  • Avoid creating duplicates of similar lists — instead, adjust filters on existing ones.

? Tip: Dynamic Distribution Lists are perfect for recurring communications such as newsletters, surveys, and event reminders — ensuring your messages always reach the right members automatically.
